Product Review: LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer

I’ve been using the LA Girl Pro Concealer since it was introduced by others from the Youtube Beauty Community.  I have developed a relationship with my LA Girl Pro Concealer and I must say, she’s here to stay. I had to review this product and give my personal thoughts and insight on the product to let you know just what I think about the concealer and why I there will be a lasting relationship with the concealer.

What I like about the concealer

I love several different things about this concealer. 1.) The LA Girl Pro Conceal concealer has a great creamy consistency. It’s not drying and it’s not greasy. The good news about this product is you won’t have an ashy look, and it won’t (what I like to call) cook up on your skin giving you a shiny/oily appearance. It’s just right in regard to consistency. 2.) When applied correctly (using the right tools and setting powder), it won’t separate or crease. 3.) It’s super blendable and can be used to mask any blemishes or dark spots on my face.4.) Gives a light to full coverage look (it’s buildable).   5.) At the end of the day, it’s still intact from early morning application. I have combination skin, depending on the weather, my face can become extremely oily or extremely dry. 6.) SUPER AFFORDABLE. Who would have thought a product valued as low as $1.99 would be this great? The consistency of the concealer works well with both all skin types (oily, combination, dry).

What I don’t like about the concealer

There is one thing in particular that I don’t care for regarding this product. That one this is the applicator brush tip. The upside to the applicator is the overall ability to help you control the product, you will get the correct amount needed for application.  Despite this upside to the applicator, it takes forever for it to come to the top of the tube. I find myself having to squeeze hard enough to get it to come to the top of the applicator. I’m not sure if it’s due to a faulty tube or just me.

LA Girl Pro Conceal vs. MAC Pro long wear Concealer

Many have said that the LA Girl Pro Conceal is comparable to the MAC Pro long wear Concealer. I use the MAC Pro long wear Concealer just as much as I do the LA Girl Pro Conceal. Both offer amazing coverage. They both are great for covering blemishes and dark spots, both offer buildable  coverage, and  both dry matte. I was actually able to find a dupe for my Pro long wear with LA Girl Pro Conceal.  I use MAC Pro longwear in NC45 and my dupe in LA Pro Conceal is Toffee. However, even though there are some similarities, there are some differences. I have found that the Pro Longwear concealer stays put. Once it dries, it’s there to say until you wash it off. You have to hurry up and apply it to the skin, if it dries before you finish manipulating it you will have to reapply. Compared to the Pro Conceal the consistency and texture is different. Pro Longwear is more of a liquid consistency than the Pro Conceal which offers a creamy consistency.

How I Apply the Concealer

I apply the LA Girl Pro Conceal using the applicator brush tip on the areas necessary to give a fierce contour. After I apply the desired amount of product I use my elf stippling brush to blend the concealer out on to the face. I have used a makeup sponge in the past, but I have seriously become attached to my elf stippling brush. To finish the concealer I use a makeup sponge to apply my Ben Nye Banana Powder to set the concealer.
My Final Thoughts on the LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer

The LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer has a permanent home in my personal makeup collection and my client makeup kit. I love that it’s easy to blend, easy to manipulate, perfect for all skin types and complexions, dries matte, covers my blemishes and dark spots, super affordable (fits all budgets) and the overall consistency and texture of the product is great. I was happy to find a dupe for my MAC Pro longwear concealer.  Everyone should have this product in their collection. You can purchase this product online or from your local beauty supply store. You can buy individual tubes, or you can purchase all shades (for my MUAs out there). What are you waiting for? If you don’t have it, GO GET IT!!

>Beauty Product Review:Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

>

Hello Blog Lovers!! I purchased the Smashbox primer kit for face and eyes in December of 2010 for $38.00 for all three primers (Face, pore and fine lines, and eyeshadow primer). I have been using the face primer and the eyeshadow primer for a while and I now have some reviews for your guys that I want to share. Check out the review below.
What is it:

Make-up artists use this to create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation to increase longevity, our best-selling primer helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish.

This is an oil-free foundation primer

 Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Trisiloxane, Silica, Dimethicone/ Vinyldimethicone Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Extract, Propylene Glycol, Water (Aqua, Eau), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Cola Acuminata Seed Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract.

Price: $ 32.00 (Individual retail)

Where to buy: Ulta.com, Sephora.com, and Smashbox.com (They are all priced the same on each site)

 My Thoughts:

After using this product for the first time as a test underneath my foundation I was hooked!! I had to go and purchase my own tube to try for myself!! I saw a difference in my foundation after a long day and I must say that if you are not using a foundation primer you need to get one especially if you have a oily ‘T’ zone and or  oily skin in general. This primer has made my foundation last from the start of the day to the end of the day without any of my natural oils shining through. I will definitely keep this as one of my staple products in my make-up kit!!

My Suggestions:

I would suggest using a dime size of this product as a whole over the face. Put a little on the five points of your face (forehead, nose, chin, [‘T’ zone], and each cheek) and rub it in. A little goes a long way with this product. Too much of this product will cause it to peel and become flaky. Since this primer is a silicone based primer, I recommend when cleaning your face and removing your make up that you use make-up wipes to remove your make-up completely then proceed to cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin thoroughly. If not you may experience mild breakouts.

>I’m Back! My Mini Hiatus and Soap And Glory Review

>

Hello Blog Lovers and Welcome to my new followers!! I have been MIA for a few weeks now and I apologize. I have however made an effort to keep up with what’s going on in the blogger world. I’ve also taken good notes and I have some great things coming up. I have been busy with school I’m currently working on my Master’s Degree in Business and work has been just as busy. I’m also working on developing a new blog and I’ve been busy working on the details for that. Stay tuned it will be interesting. I’m back and in full effect!

A few weeks ago I was in Target and I was browsing the beauty section. As always I was in there for cleaning supplies and not beauty products but I came across this display for Soap and Glory products and what caught my eye was the colors and the vintage pictures that grace the products and packaging. I will be honest, this was my first time coming across these products. Some are probably thinking where have you been?? Under a rock?? My Response: IDK maybe I have. Giggles.

I was very intrigued by all of the products on the shelf and I really wanted to grab everything there just to try it but I didn’t I kept it simple. I purchased the body butter (The Daily Smooth Amazingly-Effective Dry Skin Formula Body Butter) which has Rosehip Seed Oil and Cocoa Butter. It’s scented with the brands Mist you Madly body spray which has Bergamot, Blackcurrent, Magnolia, Freesia, and Vanilla Musk. I ♥ it!  It’s not too loud and it’s not over powering. It leaves the skin smooth and silky. My sister and mother love it as well.
This body butter gets my five star stamp ★★★★★. This is priced at $14.99 at Target locations

I also purchased the Glam A lot Fragrant Body Spray. I ♥ this as well. It smells great. It’s not loud or overpowering either. It has a Vanilla Musk scent as well. I will definitely make a purchase  of these two products and more in the future. This body spray also has my five star stamp★★★★★. This is priced at $9.99 at Target Locations

Disclaimer: I purchased these beauty products with my own money and this is my honest review and opinion.

>Beauty Product Review: Wet and Wild Eyemake up Remover

>

Hello Blog Lovers! I just wanted to give my personal review on this eye make-up remover that I purchased last week. I was in desperate need of an eye make-up remover but I didn’t have access to my personal Mary-K rep because truth be told..I feel that the Mary-K eye make up remover is the TRUTH!!! I also didn’t want to pay the high price for it either (I’m on a budget right now). So when I visited Walgreens I started looking for some because I was already there to purchase some new foundation. SN: The thing I love about Walgreens is that they always have my foundation color..Wal-mart never has it!! 😦 and of course it’s more in Walgreens than Wal-mart but it’s worth it!  Anywho, back to what I was saying because I was on a hunt to find some eye make-up remover I chose this one because it was cheaper than the other brand. I love Wet and Wild eyeshadows and eye pencils so I decided to give this a try.
My personal thoughts:
Pros: It does remove the eye-make up. It’s not oil based (like Mary-K) so it takes a few more seconds to remove the liquid waterproof eye liner 😦 but overall it removes the eye make-up well. It has aloe in it and it doesn’t have a loud smell. It’s a clear liquid all though it look purple. It’s just the bottle. Great Product for the price. It was a $1.99.

Cons: It kind of gives off a cool-stinging sensation which had me concern that I may go blind. LOL I haven’t heard anything about someone going blind but the sensation caught me off guard a little because I’m used to just doing one swipe and I guess that’s the luxury of buying Mary-K. It’s water based. (I didn’t really think about that until after I used it<

Will I buy this product again?? I will not buy this eye make-up remover again simply because it doesn’t remove my eyeliner well without having to do extra rubbing (after a while, rubbing becomes a little too much for my eyes) and I don’t really like the “cool-stinging sensation”. Since I don’t believe in wasting money (even thou it was 2 bucks) I’m going to use it until I purchase something else.
